Vote On IHSS Jobs Bill Postponed Until Wednesday

A bill that may save up to 160,000 IHSS provider jobs in California is facing a crucial vote in the U.S. Senate this week. The vote is now tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 4. Call your U.S. Senators toll-free at 1-877-442-6801 today. (If you’ve called them once, thank you.  Call them again!)

The major jobs bill provides for more than $16 billion in emergency aid to state and local governments, including funding for IHSS. The funding is provided by closing foreign tax loopholes. Without this money, California in general and the IHSS program in particular will be severely hurt. State costs for IHSS will increase significantly, making our efforts to stop cuts in the IHSS program even more difficult.

That’s why it is so important for you to contact Senators Feinstein and Boxer !

Call them toll-free at 1-877-442-6801. Tell them to save IHSS by supporting H.R. 1586 with the emergency state aid (FMAP).
