Mom at home with daughter just short of a MIRACLE!!! by Jeneane Traynor-Stover

I cannot express how appreciative we are that I am able to be my daughter’s IHSS care provider.  She  was finally diagnosed in the autism spectrum when she was 5 years old. At the time both my husband and I worked full time to support our family of 6 which left my daughter in the care of others.

I decided 3 years ago when she was 8 and 1/2 years old that I had to stay home with her.  We couldn’t figure out a way for me to not work financially, so I started working just part-time while she was at school.  What happened after our hearts were in the right place has just been short of a miracle; including us finding out about IHSS.  I have been home now for almost 3 years, with help from IHSS benefits for about the last year.  She has made more progress in the last 3 years than she did the entire first 8 years of her life.  This is truly the best thing in the world for her and if we loose IHSS then she won’t be at home with her Mom where she should be, that’s a very, very scary and sad thought.
