At a leadership breakfast and town hall meeting organized by UDW, noted civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton and AFSCME International Secretary Treasurer Lee Saunders urged labor, religious and community leaders to fight back against efforts to cripple public services and weaken working families.
Sharpton and Saunders are traveling across the country to fight against the coordinated attack on public employees and the services they provide. They stopped in San Diego to rally community support to oppose a number of ballot initiatives that would significantly weaken the rights and benefits for the city’s public employees.
