Millions of Americans are out of work and can’t provide for their families. Yet, the Jobs Bill is not moving.
Thousands of demonstrators are occupying Wall Street — and Main Streets everywhere — demanding an economy that works for all Americans, not just the wealthiest. Yet, the Jobs Bill is not moving.
Sent to Congress by President Obama nearly one month ago to invest in infrastructure and create jobs, the Jobs Bill is just sitting there.
Just this week House Republican leader Eric Cantor said Republicans would not even let the bill come up for a vote. He said the bill was dead on arrival. Dead on arrival? They just don’t get it, do they?
Every day, millions of Americans are pounding the pavement looking for jobs that aren’t there. Millions more are underemployed and having a hard time making ends meet with the jobs they do have.
We’re putting a spotlight on jobs until there is some real action. Heck, we’ve set up a live webcam of the Jobs Bill so you can see for yourself what’s happening. Check it out here.
Passing a bold Jobs Bill that includes investment in infrastructure is the surefire way to immediately get America back to work rebuilding our great country. Please join me in telling Congress to pass the Jobs Bill. We need jobs and we need them now. Go to: www.afscme.org/jobs
Thank you for taking action today. I’ll be sure to let you know what’s next. And of course, you can always see for yourself by going to the American Jobs Act live webcam.
