San Diego council race headed for runoff

SAN DIEGO — Labor advocate Myrtle Cole and LGBT leader Dwayne Crenshaw are headed for a runoff for the vacant District 4 City Council seat after topping a crowded field in Tuesday’s special election.

They are vying to succeed Tony Young as the representative for the neighborhoods of southeastern San Diego. Young resigned Jan. 1 to head the local American Red Cross. Read more
