Tell Governor Brown: Don’t cap hours for IHSS caregivers

Last year, the Obama Administration issued a new rule that helps bridge the gap of inequality for low-wage in-home caregivers by giving them the same overtime protections as other workers and ensure the continued delivery of quality care.

The Brown Administration here in California is undermining this effort by proposing a drastic cut in hours for tens of thousands of caregivers through the state’s In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program – cuts that will place workers deeper in poverty and jeopardize the continuity of care seniors and people with disabilities rely on to live safely at home.
