We hold meetings in every UDW county so that homecare providers, their clients and families are able to come to a local gathering in their own community. At these meetings UDW provides political updates on the latest issues that will impact homecare providers. We also talk about IHSS program changes and teach advocacy so that consumers of IHSS understand their rights during an annual or intake assessment.
Come and meet new friends! At UDW meetings. Care providers have a chance to meet neighbors who are also care providers, network, share information and support one another. Family and clients are welcome.

When UDW holds meetings we need home care workers to help phone other members so they know about the meeting and what we’ll be discussing. Additionally, volunteer members “phone bank” other members to inform them about critical issues that impact the IHSS program. We also want both providers and consumers to know about our Advocacy Program; understanding the consumer’s rights at a yearly assessment or a fair hearing. Volunteer members – both workers and clients – are invited to help prepare these workshops and facilitate them. It is a great way to meet other people who care, and learn about important issues.
