Your Votes Sent a Clear Message!
-- California election results represent a win
for homecare workers --

We would like to thank all of the home care workers, clients, and family members that voted in the November 8 "Special" election.  Together with other Californians, we have defeated the anti-worker policies of Gov. Schwarzenegger and his corporate supporters.

Your votes have sent a strong message that in spite of all the money spent on this election (more than $250 million), the united voices of working Californians prevailed.

With this resounding confirmation of our strength, we can now move forward together, and focus on getting new contracts and supporting home care workers on the local level.

UDW Answered the Call to Action!

"Overall, the special election called by Schwarzenegger to win public validation of his agenda sparked a campaign that became the costliest in California's history. All told, the yes and no campaigns on the eight initiatives spent more than $250 million."
