Telephone town hall welcomes newest UDW members and gives important overtime update

Yesterday, we hosted a tele-town hall to welcome our sisters and brothers from CUHW into the UDW family. About 1,600 providers participated in the call, and 200 viewed our livestream. With the help of our host, UDW’s Organizing and Field Services Director Matthew Maldonado, we discussed our UDW member benefits, heard an update on overtime pay for IHSS providers, and talked about our campaign to end the 7% cut permanently. May 15, 2015 Dear CUHW providers, Earlier this year, California United Homecare Workers (CUHW) announced that it will merge with United Long Term Care Workers (ULTCW) of SEIU and the United Domestic Workers (UDW) of AFSCME in order to maximize resources and better serve homecare providers.
